Soulful, folk inspired stories with an unapologetic, bluesy angst. With a voice built for jazz, Liv Phoenix paints unique melodies over open, woodsy guitar tunings. Her songs are resonant of the rich inner and outer landscapes she pulls inspiration from, and has been likened to artists ranging from Joni Mitchell to Nick Drake to Norah Jones. In childhood, she sang Greek folk music, pop, blues, and was writing songs since she could pick up a pen. She spent her teen years deep in vocal jazz, and went on to study at Berklee Conservatory in Boston. However, the call out west grew louder and louder, and she has since made a home out of Colorado. Her intimacy with nature inspires playful, earthy melodies and lyrics…Recently, looping pedals have added rich layering to her songs.
Olivia Roumel, artistically known as Liv Phoenix, released her debut album, Blip,in February of 2018. It tells stories of empowerment and is painted only with an acoustic guitar and reverb heavy vocals. She hopes that the music speaks for itself and continues to uncover pieces of this very messy human experience, infiltrating listeners with healing.
